Tasgadh Award
Added on 01 October 2015
My lullabies project "kist o dreams" has received a small grant from Tasgadh to support research and compiklation of songs to extend the online lullaby collection available at www.kistodeams.org.
Currently this website offers a resource of songs which were recorded for the original "kist o dreams" project CD. These are lullabies from Scottish tradition which I personally selected as ones which a parent might sing to soothe a child to sleep.
These songs only represent one part of Scotland's tradition of lullabies and this grant award will allow me to expand the collection to include songs from contemporary tradition and songs which are written in the form of lullabies, but are not necessarily ones you would choose to sing a child to sleep.
Tasgadh is a fund set up by and devolved from Creative Scotland, managed by Feisean nan Gaidheal and open to organisations and individuals. It offers support for traditional arts projects in Scotland.
At the moment, the kist o dreams website includes information on singing lullabies, audio files from the kist o dreams CD, further information on the songs from kist o dreams, Bairn's Kist and Lullabies of Loss and information on the parent and toddler group project, Learning with Lullabies.
