Embark on the North Coast 500 driving route, one of the world’s most iconic coastal touring routes, and you discover the breath-taking beauty of the North Highlands; white sand beaches, rugged mountains, hidden gems and a wealth of unforgettable experiences.
We are proud of the glorious landscape of the north and heartened to see how the route has taken off in popularity. This app includes a collection of traditional tales and songs, interwoven with atmospheric instrumental music. It features the work of some of the Highlands best loved voices and I am delighted to be included among them, singing and telling stories.
I sing and tell stories alongside some of the standard-bearers of the oral tradition of the Highlands, multi-instrumentalist, storyteller and singer Bob Pegg, harpist Bill Taylor, singers Mairi MacArthur and Chris MacLennan and storytellers and tradition bearers Jess Smith, Janet MacInnes, Andrew Mackintosh, Ruth Kirkpatrick, Padraig MacNeil, David Campbell and Flora Lindsay.
The songs, stories and music are chosen to complement the places and landscapes of the route, timed to fit with the drivers' experiences.
