Celtic Connections, January 2018

Added on 26 October 2017

Come and join me for workshops at the 25th Anniversary of Scotland's Winter festival in Glasgow, Celtic Connections.

Saturday 20th January

10.30am - 12 noon  “Singin’ on yer Mammy’s Knee”

Traditional Scottish songs to sing with your wee ones.  This workshop features familiar favourites and some not-so-familiar songs, including dandling songs, action songs and one or two singing games, with a lullaby wind-down.  These songs can boost your child’s social, language and motor skills and are a great chance for lots of participation, bouncing and cuddles.  There will be a couple of very simple Gaelic songs thrown in.  You don’t need any previous experience and adults will be given song sheets to take home with them.

1:30 pm to 3 pm  “Playsongs for Bigger Bairns”

For children aged 8-11 and the adults who care for them.  Pick up some traditional Scottish songs naturally through playing.  This workshop is a chance to get up on your feet with some listening and rhythm games, as well as singing games from the playground, mostly in Scots with a couple of very simple Gaelic songs.  You don’t need any previous experience and there will be song sheets available to take home.
